What is the difference between a woodburning stove and a multifuel stove?

We'd recommend that you use firewood because it's a lower CO2 fuel. If you think you will likely just burn firewood then a woodburning stove will be your best option. It will have a larger firebox and the air supply will be set up best for wood.

If you know you will be using coal sometimes then coal needs a supply of air from below and a multi fuel stove has the grate you need to allow for that.
